When she’s not obsessing over finding the next Washington state lighthouse, Shaunita enjoys dancing, listening to music, watching sports, attending the opera and visiting museums. She is an avid volunteer and has served as a GED tutor for the incarcerated, a suicide prevention crisis counselor, an LGBTQ advocate and pro bono intake representative. She currently volunteers with the Thurston and Snohomish County Volunteer Legal Services for their pro bono family law clinics.

Shaunita D. Felder is an associate attorney who joined Scott & Associates in June 2022. Before moving to Whidbey Island, Shaunita worked both in the public and private sector as a prosecutor, financial legal examiner, and legal aid staff attorney. Before attending law school, Shaunita worked in insurance, maritime security, and addiction counseling.
EDUCATION
Shaunita was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, attending Cleveland High School in Beacon Hill until its temporary closure. Then she attended and graduated from Franklin High School in Mount Baker in 2006. She left Seattle to attend Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S in Criminal Justice, and a minor in Sociology in 2011. She left Washington again to pursue a longtime goal of becoming an attorney, attended Vermont Law School, graduating in 2020. She has been admitted to the Washington State Bar.
